The topic will change every 5/6 weeks between Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Students are able to get a taste of the different scientific disciplines before taking Biology, Chemistry and Physics as discreate subjects from Year 9 onwards.

Topics Studied:

Year 7

  • Cells and Reproduction;
  • Environment and Variation;
  • Acids, Alkalis and Chemical Reactions;
  • Particles and Solutions;
  • Energy and Electricity;
  • Forces and Space.

Year 8

  • Atoms and Elements & Compounds and Mixtures;
  • Heating and Cooling & Magnets and Electromagnets;
  • Microbes and Disease & Ecological Relationships;
  • Light & Sound and Hearing.

Homework:

Homework is set once a week. Homework tasks include questions to test knowledge; revising for tests; research and planning; writing up investigations.
